CHEMICAL COMPATIBILITY

Mimaki BS3 eco-solvent inks are designed for printing on the following Mimaki wide-format printer series:

JV33BS, JV34BS, CJV30BS, JV5, JV150, CJV150, JV300, CJV300 with CMYK color configuration.

Mimaki BS3 inks offer several important advantages:

• long printhead lifespan;
• minimal odor;
• high abrasion resistance;
• wide color gamut.

Like all Mimaki inks, they are supplied in 2-liter aluminum packs and provide consistently high print quality over extended periods of use. In addition, BS3 ink users receive a two-year Mimaki warranty that also covers the printer printheads.

BS3 inks are supplied in 2L packs complete with color chips. Their pricing remains competitive compared to third-party non-original inks while offering significant advantages that reduce operating costs, improve productivity, and enhance print quality.

The inks dry faster and spread less compared to non-original alternatives, enabling efficient operation at high-speed print modes. They deliver higher color saturation, brighter images with extended color gamut, excellent mechanical abrasion resistance, and stable performance across all printing modes.

Their use extends printhead service life by 2–3 times compared to alternative inks.

INK FEATURES

INK QUALITY

The ink quality is certified by GREENGUARD Gold certification, confirming compliance with some of the world’s strictest standards for low indoor emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC).

These inks are safe for use without special ventilation or environmental control systems. GREENGUARD Gold certification confirms suitability for use in schools, hospitals, and other sensitive indoor environments.

OUTDOOR WEATHER RESISTANCE

To achieve outstanding weather resistance together with excellent color gamut and extended shade reproduction, only the highest-quality pigments were selected.

Accelerated weathering tests were conducted using a xenon weatherometer according to the SAEJ1960 standard.

Under Climate Zone 1 conditions (UK-type climate), SunChemical MBS inks demonstrate outdoor lightfastness of approximately 36 months for uncoated and unlaminated prints.

CHEMICAL AND ABRASION RESISTANCE

SunChemical MBS inks provide excellent alcohol and gasoline resistance as well as superior abrasion resistance. For maximum durability, application of Polyplast PY series PY383 protective varnish or lamination is recommended.

PLASTICS

Some plastic materials may contain oily substances that can negatively affect adhesion and image durability over time.

Plasticized PVC used for banners may significantly reduce ink adhesion over time. This issue can be minimized by cleaning the surface with white spirit before printing.

DRYING

SunChemical MBS inks feature excellent drying performance on both coated and uncoated substrates commonly used in the advertising print market.

Actual drying speed depends on several factors including ink layer thickness, media type, and print speed.

PRINTHEAD WARRANTY

The manufacturer guarantees that SunChemical MBS inks are fully compatible with the ink delivery systems of printers using Epson DX and TFP piezoelectric printheads when stored and used strictly according to instructions.

If laboratory analysis confirms that the inks caused printhead failure, the manufacturer will replace the printheads free of charge.

STORAGE CONDITIONS

• Store indoors away from direct sunlight at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C with humidity levels of 40–80% without condensation.
• Shelf life is 18 months from the production date.
• Recommended operating temperature: +18°C to +25°C.
• Use within 45 days after opening.
• Keep out of reach of children. Do not ingest. Contact may irritate eyes and skin.
• In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water.
